Letter Writing Guidelines

The Governor and Legislators want and expect to receive letters and phone calls on important issues and use these as an important source of information when they decide how to vote, so every letter counts. When writing your letter, follow these simple guidelines to ensure your letter is read and taken in full consideration.

  1. Your letter should be short and to the point. Start the letter by telling the Governor what it is that you want him to do.
  2. Include any relevant points and facts you may wish to about why Clear Lake needs to be cleaned up.
  3. Tell the Governor why this is important to you. Don’t be afraid to include a personal connection.
  4. Be polite and do not threaten the Governor in any way.
  5. Include your full name and mailing address in all communications.
  6. If you receive a response to your letter, please forward a copy to us for our records. You can send a copy to us through email to connect@clearlakedocumentary.com.
  7. Be sure to find out what happened with the Clear Lake Clean Up and let your legislators know that you are following their action on this issue. To keep up to date about current events on the Clear Lake Clean Up, Join our Mailing List.
